In Residence: January 14 – March 8, 2013Exhibition/Performance: March 7, 2013Learning Lab: ArtLabAbout the Learning Labs with Memetic & Pho What do you get when you mix the DJ and host of TimeKode, one of Ottawa’s most respected and longstanding music and dancing parties with, a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and one-half of the acclaimed Toronto indie dancehall soul Bonjay and sixteen interns representing the amazing diverse youth of the Denver area? A unique and exhilaratingReConstruction of sounds collected and inspired by old Denver records.Over the course of the Learning Lab the ArtLab interns have been introduced to MIDIs (musical instrument digital interface), production software, turntables, and vinyl records as they demonstrated how to make and mix beats, develop an ear for their taste in music, and create personal performance styles.
