PlatteForum Announces the Recipient of the Judy Anderson Founders Award

PlatteForum is pleased to announce the inaugural recipient of the first-annual Judy Anderson Founders Award. Denver artist, Andrea Moore will be presented with the award and cash gift at a private reception in her honor on September 13, 2017.Ms. Moore has engaged with PlatteForum over the years in many roles as a former Resident Artist, a lead project artist and a mentor to a PlatteForum intern. A self-described creative activist, Ms. Moore uses writing, performance and photography to foster connection and dialogue across social and cultural lines. She is a co-founder of The Wayfaring Band, which offers road trips and social programs for young adults who experience special needs and emerging thought leaders. The mission of The Wayfaring Band is to create social experiences for their members to explore, connect and engage with their communities through the lens of travel and adventure.The Judy Anderson Founders Award endowment was established by multiple supporters of PlatteForum to fund an annual award in honor of PlatteForum founder, Judy Anderson. The award will stand as recognition of Judy’s vision, boundless energy, determination, artistic integrity, creativity and grit in the creation, development and achievements of PlatteForum. A $1,000 cash award will be presented annually to an artist selected by a committee.
