In Residence: November 8 - December 16, 2010Exhibition: Opens December 16; continues through January 7, 2011Learning Lab: Colfax Community NetworkJumpsuit Exhibition websiteTeddy O’Connor is inspired by the superheroes and comic books he loved growing up, and works both in illustration and mixed media to explore issues of identity, transformation, and the supernatural. He is currently self-publishing several comics on his website -- including The Creep and The Adventures of Pyramid – and creates mixed media objects that relate to and build upon his illustrations. Teddy has a B.A. from Wesleyan University in Studio Art, and has exhibited throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. In working with the Colfax Community Network, Teddy has divided his concepts into different parts: coming up with original characters, superpowers, and environments; developing stories through writing and sequential drawing; and creating costumes and mixed media objects. The final installation will reveal a world of two- and three-dimensional works inspired by the students’ original characters and stories.
