About Temple TattleIntroducing Temple Tattle, PlatteForum’s third annual offering, in which we pair-up creatives from The Temple with the rabble-rousing change agents of our great city to show how we can make socially just communities through art. Our Tattle Tales present varying approaches in art and culture, on how to create an equitable society by challenging injustice and valuing diversity. All talks are free and open to the public.Generously supported by the Bonfils Stanton FoundationAbout the SpeakersBecky Wareing Steele is an artist living and working in Denver, Colorado specializing in small scale sculpture. Her work deals with the commonalities that exist in our shared experiences through the examination of scale and environment. Through her sculptural and photographic work with 1:160 scale figures she explores the impact of scale and how it effects our perception of the world around us. This impact can also be found in the way we perceive ourselves in our environment. Wareing Steele holds a BA in Art History from Colorado State University with a focus on Intuit Art.
Andrew Novick is a Denver native and has a day job that rivals his artistic practice; he's an engineer with the time and frequency division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In a nutshell, he compares atomic clocks at the nanosecond levels all over the world. On his creative side, he has a good handle on popular culture in town – both as a consumer - and proprietor. Andrew has performed in bands, held art shows (photography, collections and installations), and ‘performed’ PowerPoint presentations at local concerts. He has also created several wacky parties, food events and themed BBQs and extreme pancake breakfasts. He also created a Fukuoka-style yatai, a pop-up ramen stand – preparing traditional Japanese ramen as well as creating dessert ramen.
