ArtLab Interns to Host "Coffee with Gen Z" at 48 Hours Summit

DATE and LOCATION: 1:15-2:00 pm Friday, August 10th at Redline, 2350 Arapahoe St, Denver, CO 80205Please join us as we host a lively discussion about civic engagement at this year's 48 Hours Summit at Redline, Coffee with Gen Z. During this 45-minute event, ArtLab interns will interview local politicians, activists, government workers and a journalist to get down to the bottom of how youth can become more active and empowered by engaging in important local issues. Below is a list of our esteemed guests.Representative Leslie Herod is an American politician, who was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in the 2016 elections. A member of the Democratic Party, she represents the 8th district. She is the first gay African-American to be elected to Colorado's state legislatureCristina Aguilar is a queer Latinx activist, writer, healer and humanitarian; a granddaughter of Mexican immigrants who uses her megaphone to call for human rights.Denver Post Journalist Jon Murray has covered Denver city government for The Denver Post since 2014. His coverage focuses on Mayor Michael Hancock, the workings of the City Council and city's government interactions with Denver's people.Owen Loftus is the Program Officer for the Gill Foundation, and is responsible for grant-making strategies in Florida, as well as the foundation’s conservative efforts.Michael Sapp is the Director of Government and Community Affairs in the Department of Public Safety, City and County of Denver. Mr. Sapp is also a mayoral appointee.
