Who: ArtLab Interns Summer 2010What: Original Documentary and Public Service AnnouncementsWhen: Friday, August 13th at 7:00pmThroughout the summer of 2010 the ArtLab interns of PlatteForum have been at it again. At what? Thecreative process, adventures, experiments, designing and learning. ArtLab summers are filled with experiences that the youth have never gone through before but lead towards a future filled with understanding to draw upon. PlatteForum’s ArtLab youth not only created several public service announcements with Filmmaker Scott Kinnamon but also chose to film a documentary, Creativity is Life.ArtLab youth spent the past 3 months scouting the Denver community to prove that our world and lives would not exist without creative thought. Creativity flows through our veins and brains just as oxygen does and sustains our livelihood. ArtLab youth are wise and recognize that they are better students, civic leaders and community members because of their experience with the creative process. They are begging Denver, Colorado, The United States, and the World to recognize the importance of giving youth the opportunity to think critically, problem solve using the creative process. Experiencing the arts saves lives, creates happiness, success and builds a brighter future for all of us. So they ask:  Why are the arts are being cut? Why are youth not going through the creative process in our schools? Our youth need these skills for the future, the documentary shows this and they want you to recognize Creativity is Life.ArtLab created two public service announcements that have been appearing throughout Denver since the end of July. Through projections at Film on the Rocks, at the Museum of Nature and Science, Santa Fe First Friday Art Walk, writer’s square and beyond. The projections will continue to reveal themselves throughout the fall. ArtLab challenges the Denver community to get out—experience our local cultural and art institutions, maybe you will be able to catch a glimpse of the Creativity is Lifemessage at work.Premiere of Creativity = Life is on Friday, August 13th at 7:00pm at the Starz Film Center on Auraria Campus in Denver. The premiere is Free and Open to the public.The Idea Man"The Idea Man" follows four very different people having very different problems. From car troubles, to writers block, computer troubles to pure boredom, the Idea Man has the solution to all of life's problems. What is it/ Cr...eativity! By passing out his 'ideas', the Idea Man sparks a creative match inside each persons mind, allowing them to solve whatever problem they may be having, remind each that creativity is life!Brought to you by...Look around you. What do you see? Creativity! Anything and everything you may use in your day to day life was once a spark in someone's mind, brought to life by the creative process.
