Exhibition Title: Mechanical Voids

Residency dates: June 3rd - July 25th, 2019

Opening reception: 6-8pm Thursday, July 25th

While in residence, Forrestal collaborated with PlatteForum’s ArtLab Interns to complete a site-specific installation inspired by the objects we encounter on a daily basis.Much of Forrestal's work explores American consumer culture, mass production, consumption, and disposal of objects that are meant to promise functionality and life improvement. The artist riffs off of the authoritative style of a diagram and investigates the intersection of humans, objects, and environment.

Using the authoritative style of a diagram, I investigate the intersection of humans, objects, and environment. My large hand-drawn installations require intensive labor and crafting as I challenge concepts of quality, disposability, and time. During my residency at PlatteForum I will pursue designing and constructing an entire space in which the viewer will be immersed.
